Design of Tamil Typeface – Parasakthi Supervisor: Prof. G. V. Sreekumar Objective of the project was to design a legible typeface to be used as body text in books, magazines and newspapers. Though there are plenty of digital typefaces available in Tamil, on close examination, we find lots of irregularities in design. At present, there are hardly any well designed legible fonts in Tamil. After studying several typefaces from different periods and mediums the following typeface Parasakthi was designed. The typeface is a standard, simple and clean design with uniform stroke thickness. |
